Hyderabad Metro Rail has started the services for public on November 29th after launched by prime minister of India on 28th November. Metro train fares are declared as 10 rupees is the minimum price upto 2km and 60 rupees is the maximum price above 26km travel. Two stretches of two corridors from Miyapur to Ameerpet and Nagole to Ameerpet are running with metro trains successfully.
Hyderabad Metro rail has introduced smart cards for easy travel in metro trains in Hyderabad unless stand in long queue for tickets. These cards are available in all metro stations, Initially you have to buy the card for 200 rupees, in which 100 rupees is the security deposit and remaining 100 you can use for your travel. If you are travelling with friends or family then you have to go to the ticket counter or ATVM and get the coins based on your journey. Later we can recharge the smart cards at ticket counters or Automatic ticket vending machines or you can recharge your smart card online using paytm also. The validity of this smart card is one year only. Initailly when smart card launched 5% discount was given by Hyderabad Metro, however from December 7th onwards and till 31st March 2018 it was increased from 5% to 10% discount on every trip using this metro smart card.

Instead of smart card you can use the valid tokens also, which you will get from ticket counters based on your source and destination. While entering into the metro station to get into train you have to tap the smart card or token at the entrance automatic gate. Later once you reached your destination place at the exit automatic gate also you need to tap the smart card and put the token at exit gate. Based on your entrance and exit the amount will be deducted automatically from smart card users where as the token will be retained by metro folks.
