Indian Railways came with a concept of booking tatkal e-tickets through Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited irctc web site. The concept is to book tickets now and pay later, the main intention of this type of ticketing model is to overcome the payment gateway problems and transaction failure issues etc., while booking tatkal tickets through IRCTC web site. As per the records everyday more than 1,20,000 tatkal tickets will be booked by travellers. IRCTC rolled out these changes and just you need to book the ticket now and you have to choose the pay later option and these e-tickets will be delivered to your address also. However you have to pay the ticket fare within 14 days of time. This type of payment mode is facilitated by Mumbai based Arthashastra Fintech Private Limited.
This project is a pilot project, while any user wants to use this epay later service the user has to pay 3.5% on ticket fare along with other taxes. A user can book only 4 tickets with this scheme as per the railway ministry. So, it is clear that to avail this service user to has to pay additional charge. Any user book the tickets via epay later scheme, immediately he/she will receive a SMS and email saying that he has to pay the fare amount within this periold. If the user fails to pay the amount as per penal interest 36% per annum he has to pay and his irctc account will be blocked and if any booked tickets those will be cancelled. If it gets suceeded then it will implemented for all trains who wants to avail taktal tickets.
